So, I have recovered from planning and coordinating my baby sister's "pre-winter formal party". I learned a few things from this experience and still have a few more to figure out! One major thing I was reminded of is that my mother and I do not work the greatest together in those types of scenarios! We are both just very strong women who do things very differently...but I still had fun sharing my ideas with her and was even more pleased when my vision was completed and how much she liked it all!

Another thing that I kind of figured out but still need some help on is decorating Eiffel Tower vases with fresh flowers. I found these to be VERY frustrating! Every website I could find about decorating the eiffel tower vases only gave hints/guidelines on how to use the ostrich feathers, not fresh flowers. The only "pointer" that I had discovered was that it is better to use the wedding belle foam holders as opposed to the large round floral foams when using the taller eiffel tower vases. However, I quickly learned that those little wedding belle's don't really hold very many flowers/branches. The foam started to quickly fall apart when I had too much weight in it. The eiffel tower vases really take on the "less is more" effect. I also think I should have purchased some of the floral foam glue to help hold the stems in place to provide them more stability.

All-in-all, I enjoyed challenging myself to techniques that I have not done before and everything turned out beautifully. I am definitely ready for some more floral design classes to further my skills and broaden my range of mediums to use.
